Thanks to Helen Elliott, Light & Life School has a facility with adequate classrooms. One classroom is used as a computer room. The physical plant is not much different from an American elementary school. It is situated in the quaint village of Salquil Grande in the northwestern highlands of Guatemala. Its main source of finances is through a small tuition ($1.25 /month) paid by each student. That is not enough to cover salaries, utilities, equipment, and materials. Light & Light Bilingual Christian School is fully accredited by the government of Guatemala. We're prayiing for the Lord to raise up other Christian people who see the value of this unique school so it can continue teaching Ixil children to become Christian leaders in their community. We are grateful to have 4 computers and hope someday to have one for each student so they will not have to take turns.
Learning the computer prepares Ixil children to be equipped for the modern world and will help them in the future.
